CHILD EDUCATION JOURNAL
Author Guidelines
Submission, Peer Review, Revision, Publication, and Manuscript Withdrawal
Important Information for Authors
Submission of a manuscript to Child Education Journal (CEJ) indicates that all authors have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the journal's editorial policies, publication ethics, peer-review procedures, and author responsibilities.
01 Manuscript Submission
All manuscripts must be submitted to Child Education Journal (CEJ) through the journal's official Online Journal System (OJS).
Before submission, authors must ensure that the manuscript complies with the journal's Focus and Scope, Author Guidelines, Article Template, Publication Ethics, Peer Review Policy, and other applicable editorial policies.
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:
- all listed authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript;
- all authors agree to submission to Child Education Journal;
- the authorship order and affiliations are correct;
- the manuscript represents genuine scholarly work;
- the manuscript is not simultaneously submitted elsewhere; and
- all authors agree to participate responsibly throughout the editorial process.
02 Originality & Exclusive Submission
Child Education Journal only considers manuscripts that are original, have not previously been published, and are not simultaneously under consideration by another journal or primary publication venue.
Important: Authors must not submit the same manuscript or a substantially similar manuscript to another journal while the manuscript remains active in the editorial process of CEJ.
Authors who wish to submit their manuscript elsewhere must first submit a formal withdrawal request and obtain official confirmation from the Editorial Office.
03 Authorship & Author Responsibility
All individuals listed as authors must have made a genuine and identifiable scholarly contribution to the manuscript.
Authors must ensure ✓ Correct author names and affiliations ✓ All authors approve the manuscript ✓ Genuine scholarly contributions ✓ Accurate corresponding-author information |
Authors must avoid ✕ Unauthorized authorship ✕ Gift or honorary authorship ✕ Ghost authorship ✕ Unapproved authorship changes |
Any addition, deletion, replacement, or rearrangement of authors after submission must be accompanied by appropriate justification and written agreement from all affected authors.
04 Editorial Screening & Peer Review
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment before external peer review.
The initial screening may include:
- Focus and Scope
- Originality
- Research contribution
- Manuscript structure
- Plagiarism screening
- Research ethics
- References
- Author metadata
- Template compliance
- Technical readiness
Manuscripts that pass initial screening may proceed to peer review. Reviewer recommendations are advisory, while the final editorial decision remains with the Editor.
05 Revision & Re-review
Authors receiving a revision decision must carefully address all comments and recommendations from the Editor and reviewers.
Authors may be required to submit:
- Revised Manuscript
- Point-by-Point Response to Reviewers
- Corrected Metadata
- Ethics or Funding Statements
- Supporting Documents
REVISION DOES NOT MEAN ACCEPTANCE
A revised manuscript may still require further revision, re-review, editorial verification, or rejection.
The revised manuscript may be evaluated directly by the Editor or returned to the original reviewer or another reviewer when further verification is required.
06 Publication Schedule & Urgent Requests
The Editorial Office may communicate an estimated publication period or target issue. However, such communication represents an editorial target and not an unconditional guarantee of publication on a particular date.
Fast publication cannot be used to bypass:
Peer Review • Revision • Re-review • Ethical Verification • Plagiarism Screening • Editorial Decision • Proofreading
07 Final Acceptance & Production
A manuscript is considered ACCEPTED only after an official acceptance decision has been issued by the Editor or Editorial Office.
The following do not automatically constitute acceptance:
- Submission confirmation
- Successful editorial screening
- Reviewer recommendation
- Submission of revision
- Completion of re-review
- Estimated publication schedule
- Invoice issuance
- Administrative communication
Copyediting → Metadata Verification → Layout → Proofreading → DOI/Crossref → Publication
08 Manuscript Withdrawal
Authors may request withdrawal before publication. However, all withdrawal requests must follow the journal's official withdrawal procedure.
Please Note:
A withdrawal request is not automatically effective merely because an author sends an email, OJS message, WhatsApp message, or other informal communication. The withdrawal becomes effective only after official confirmation from the Editorial Office.
A formal withdrawal request should include:
- Manuscript ID
- Manuscript title
- Corresponding author's name
- Reason for withdrawal
- Confirmation of agreement from all authors
09 Withdrawal Administrative Fee
To ensure transparency and responsible use of editorial, peer-review, administrative, and production resources, withdrawal after editorial processing has commenced may be subject to a Withdrawal Administrative Fee.
Article Processing Charge (APC)
The Article Processing Charge for an accepted manuscript in
Child Education Journal is IDR 4,000,000. The withdrawal administrative fee is calculated separately according to the editorial stage and resources already committed to the manuscript.
| Editorial Stage |
Withdrawal Administrative Fee |
| After submission, before peer review begins |
IDR 500,000 |
| After peer review has started |
IDR 1,000,000 |
| After reviewer evaluation has been completed |
IDR 1,500,000 |
| After a revision decision has been issued |
IDR 2,000,000 |

| After re-review or additional revision has been completed |
IDR 3,000,000 |
| After formal acceptance and during production, before publication |
IDR 3,500,000 |
Important:
The Withdrawal Administrative Fee is an administrative charge associated with editorial, peer-review, administrative, and/or production resources already committed to the manuscript. It is not the Article Processing Charge (APC) and does not, by itself, constitute a finding of publication misconduct.
Exceptional circumstances may be reviewed by the Editorial Office on a case-by-case basis. The Editorial Office may waive or adjust the withdrawal administrative fee where justified by documented exceptional circumstances.
