This could be because they are
spending more time playing with gadgets at home instead of studying. As a result, their creativity and
critical thinking skills are not being optimally developed. To address this issue, researchers have tried to
improve children’s creative thinking abilities by using nature-based loose part media. They conducted
an action classroom research with 20 children to evaluate the impact of this approach on their creative
thinking skills. The researchers observed indicators such as the children’s curiosity, imagination, ability to
produce forms, and sense of responsibility. The results showed that using nature-based loose part media
can significantly enhance young children’s creative thinking abilities. However, teaching
numeracy to children in concrete periods is still a big challenge for teachers. Moreover, technologybased
learning media must still be considered appropriate for early introduction. This research aims to
develop an interactive digital learning media to improve early childhood numeracy skills. This Research
and Development (RD) method used the 4-D model, which consists of Defining, Designing, Developing,
and Disseminating. Expert validators who test the feasibility of the product consist of material, media, and
language experts. Respondents in this study were ten children aged 4-5 years at PAUD Nurul Aisyah, East
Aceh. The results showed that this digital game is feasible as a learning media to improve early childhood
numeracy skills. The average validator score for product feasibility is in the very good category, and
children’s numeracy skills are in the good category. With this learning media, "Numb Game," children
learn the concepts of counting, grouping, and simple statistics. Through an interactive approach, the
development of Numb Game media can stimulate children’s engagement in the numeracy learning process
by utilizing visual elements, games, and interactions that stimulate curiosity and desire to understand
mathematical concepts. Therefore, this interactive digital learning media presents an interesting, adaptive,
and effective learning experience according to children’s needs in improving numeracy skills at an early
age. Further research on the long-term effects of using digital learning media on the development of early
childhood numeracy skills and the implications for their academic achievement is warranted.
Syarfina Syarfina, Siti Masruroh, Nur Masyitah, Yulia Sahpitri, Aulia Desi Pratiwi Copyright (c) 2023 Syarfina Syarfina, Siti Masruroh, Nur Masyitah, Yulia Sahpitri, Aulia Desi Pratiwi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal2.unusa.ac.id/index.php/CEJ/article/view/5458 Thu, 21 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000 The Effectiveness of Problem Based-Learning Methods to Improve the Quality of Citizenship and Pancasila Learning in Elementary School https://journal2.unusa.ac.id/index.php/CEJ/article/view/5358
The problem with this research is that many students still need help understanding citizenship education and Pancasila learning. Many students need to be more active and able to think critically so they are less involved in learning interactions. This research aims to increase students' interest in learning about citizenship and Pancasila through problem-based learning methods. This research is experimental, with 32 grade 5 elementary school students as research subjects. Data collection tools use questionnaires and student learning outcomes. Data analysis used the t-distribution test. The research results showed an average increase of 28.12 points after the intervention or post-test. The data testing results answer the previously proposed hypothesis using the t distribution test with the core t count > t table (13.528 > 2.040), meaning Ho is rejected. These findings indicate that using problem-based learning methods increases students' interest and active learning in citizenship and Pancasila education subjects. This research contributes to solving the interest in studying citizenship and Pancasila education in elementary school education units, which were previously considered boring. Future research can test this in secondary education units.
Aprillia Dian Rahayu, Zaka Hadikusuma Ramadan, Cahniyo Wijaya Kuswanto Copyright (c) 2023 Aprillia Dian Rahayu https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal2.unusa.ac.id/index.php/CEJ/article/view/5358 Thu, 21 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Strategy Preschool Teachers’ Experiences in Handling Early Childhood Children with Indications of Speech Delay https://journal2.unusa.ac.id/index.php/CEJ/article/view/5770
Dealing with these situations, educators must approach them with sensitivity and take the right steps to handle them. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the teacher and the strategies they use in handling children with speech delays. The subjects of this study were preschool teachers who directly worked with such children. The data was collected through interviews and observations. The qualitative data showed that participants faced various challenges. The researcher concluded that the teacher's role is to create a conducive learning environment, encourage children to participate actively in activities, facilitate children to interact and cooperate in small groups, make learning plans, conduct continuous assessments, and create reports on children's individual development and learning.
