Vol. 4 No. 2 (2022) Enhanced knowledge of laboratory medicine's role in healthcare

The healthcare system's laboratory is both its most and its least utilised resource. In recent years, with the development of very complicated laboratory procedures and sophisticated gear connected to computers and lab information systems, laboratory testing has undergone significant evolution. The demand for better patient care has increased along with the growth of laboratory services. More direct patient contact is required for laboratory professionals in front-line roles in healthcare teams made up of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals in order to provide evidence-based and patient-centered treatment.
