About the Journal
The International Islamic Medical Journal (IIMJ) is a peer-reviewed journal published by Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) and established by the Faculty of Medicine, UNUSA, Indonesia, in collaboration with the Forum Kedokteran Islam (FOKI) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Founded as a scholarly platform for education, research dissemination, and intellectual discourse among health professionals, IIMJ focuses on diverse topics in clinical medicine, medical ethics, professionalism, Islamic medical perspectives, and developments in basic and applied medical sciences. The journal aims to bridge the gap between modern scientific knowledge and Islamic values in medical practice and research.
IIMJ is registered with the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) under P-ISSN 2716-2370 and E-ISSN 2716-2389, and is officially indexed with CrossRef, with each article assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI): https://doi.org/10.33086/iimj
To enhance publication quality and global visibility, IIMJ involves international editors and reviewers from partner institutions in Malaysia, Pakistan, and Slovakia. This initiative reflects UNUSA’s commitment to strengthening international academic collaboration and fostering cross-border research partnerships. The involvement of these scholars demonstrates the journal’s dedication to integrating diverse scientific perspectives with Islamic values in medical sciences.
IIMJ is published twice a year (June and December) as an open-access online journal, welcoming submissions from medical professionals, educators, researchers, and students. Manuscripts should be written in academic English and comply with the journal’s editorial policies and author guidelines.
IIMJ is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia with the national recognition of SINTA (Science and Technology Index) Rank 4.
Our editorial team is dedicated to maintaining rigorous peer review, high ethical standards, and scientific excellence in accordance with both academic integrity and Islamic ethical values.
