Abstract

 In learning local history, of course, plays a very important role as a tool in developing
multicultural values. The historical site of the Sultanate of Ternate certainly has multicultural meanings /
values contained in it. Therefore, it has been used by SMA Negeri 5 Ternate City. This fact is at least a
magnet (interesting) for the author to make research on the use of historical objects of the Sultan of
Ternate's Palace in local history subjects to instill multicultural values. This research uses descriptive
qualitative method. Where begins with the stages of observing, interviewing, documenting and combining
the three stages. In accordance with the data that has been obtained in teaching and learning activities on
multicultural-based history subjects in using historical objects of the Sultan of Ternate Palace, it greatly
impacts the understanding, creativity and attitudes of students. Apart from knowledge on historical
aspects, students can apply attitudes that uphold the values of multiculturalism in accordance with the
historical material of the Sultanate of Ternate. Such as tolerance, help, respect for other people's opinions
and prejudice between people regardless of ethnic, ethnic, racial and religious differences.
